Description
Handcrafted from gold, champagne gold, rose gold and silver metallic leather, this necklace is designed to be lightweight and versatile. I wanted to create something beautiful and easy to wear, that will pair effortlessly with any outfit.
Taking approximately 3 hours to make, each piece of leather is cut by hand. Each shape is formed from 2 layers of leather that are bonded together to give the necklace strength and durability. The next and most fiddly step is to mark out the position of the holes - using a jig that I made. Once the holes have been precision cut, the edges are meticulously hand finished with a burnishing gum. The texture you see on the silver discs is created by making several scattered piercings to the leather. The last stage is assembling the necklace, using stainless steel jumprings to link the pieces together and finishing with a stainless steel toggle clasp.
The finished piece looks elegant, feels comfortable and elevates any outfit.
